Imogen Nichols Summer Vacation Student
I am an undergraduate Biochemistry student at the University of Bristol going into my third year. I received a summer studentship from the Society for Reproduction and Fertility to study some of the functions the actin cytoskeleton plays in the accurate segregation of chromosomes during female meiosis in mammals. I decided to partake in this summer placement to also understand what it is like to be part of a working laboratory. I hope to gain confidence in my previously established technical skills whilst learning novel methods in the lab to develop those skills that I wouldn’t normally have the chance to as part of my undergraduate studies.
